Vagueness
„The knowledge derived from the world and from reality... does not amount to even one part in ten thousand relative to the truth.”From Orot HaKodesh I, 17
Yesterday we spoke about living in fog and vagueness, both on the private plane and on the general plane. But in this passage Rav Kook speaks of the point being not a lack of knowledge due to a lack of understanding, but due to the fact that the knowledge is not present at all in the 'ordinary' world. What we encounter in daily life is only an external appearance, a visible layer of reality. Rav Kook describes it as a faint shadow, because it is the result of a deeper source. The root of reality is the source of life itself, the divine manifestation from which all the powers and directions flow. And from here comes the solution as well. Not more and more information, but a change of direction. To stop, to delve deeper, and to seek the meaning and the direction within reality. And when this happens, the uncertainty too changes. It does not disappear, but it no longer runs the person; rather it opens for him a path to a deeper clarification.
