„Literature, its depiction and its sculpting, stand to bring into actuality all the spiritual concepts imprinted in the depth of the human soul. And as long as even a single line hidden in the depth of the soul is lacking, that has not been brought into actuality, there is still an obligation upon the work of art to bring it forth.”From The Rav's Introduction to the Song of Songs
Literature, like art in general, has an immense power.
It succeeds in entering into the deepest depths, in raising ailments and problems alongside amazing and refined things.
Art and literature have the ability to touch very delicate and fine places, to see processes before they begin, to create movement, to change reality.
Not only in the general world will these processes occur; they will also occur in the spiritual world. The poem and the book are mighty weapons in the culture war between the children of light and the children of darkness. The Rav writes this in other places as well - the pen is a weapon. It is a way to win wars, to change consciousness, to create a world - good or bad - depending on us...
Even in the media world developing around us, in a world in which we can undergo a process by means of images alone, we must not abandon the power of the pen and of the book.
So run to buy books, it is important...
