Innocence

„A person should always honor within himself the aspect of innocence within him... and through this he will come to honor the natural innocence in the world.”From Shemonah Kevatzim 5:226

Innocence is the part of us that self-interest has not yet marred. A clean, virginal part, free of self-serving calculation — and precisely for this reason it is pure, refined, and precise. We must be connected to this part if it exists within us, and we must be grateful to the people around us who hold on to innocence in this world. "For precisely there the divine light penetrates without the limitation and contraction of the intellect." And this ability to connect and to recall innocence is the connection to the power that existed before the sin of knowledge. And with a proper connection, we will be able to aim — with the help of the intellect, which is already inseparable from us — toward the Source.
