We Are Advancing

„For our general aim is not to reach some known trait...”From Shemonah Kevatzim 8:36

In a fascinating passage the Rav lays out a mental state that most of us go through — a feeling that sometimes, after a very, very long road, we have not really advanced. There are situations in life in which a momentary darkness strikes us and takes the wind out of our sails. We must remember that our life's mission is to look forward, and to understand that the moments of darkness and gloom are not our true state, and to lift our head toward the future.
