Parashat Ki Tetze
„The power of gratitude is a great power in the soul, such that according to the level of its purity, the yearning to bring it into practice grows, and according to how whole a person is in his mind, his impression from it is fulfilled.”From Mussar Avicha 2:3
In this week's parashah there is a special prohibition: "You shall not abhor an Egyptian, for you were a stranger in his land." And this prohibition — not to abhor one who harmed our people, because of the good he did for us at the beginning of the road — is a whole worldview that sees in gratitude an immense foundation of building in the soul of a person. We must remember this in our daily life and in our struggles: if we love ourselves, we must be positive.
