Mishpetei HaRav Kook / Repair
„In order to straighten the minds after they have already been bent, to remove the resentment in the hearts after they have already been hurt, the Torah scholars must appear with a great illumination.”From Ma'amrei HaRe'iyah, p. 286
In order to repair the world, one must be repaired. In order to illuminate the world, one must be illumined. When the light of the Torah is brought in a bent, hateful, accusing manner, it is very hard to produce repair. And many times people then try to go the ways of compromise, which also dissolve the longed-for repair. The great answer is to establish God-fearing people who are connected to the Land and its people — to repair from within society and not from above it. To connect, and not to walk about in unbridled arrogance that brings harm and strife.
