„The essence of spiritual toil, and the withholding of inner contentme…”
„The essence of spiritual toil, and the withholding of inner contentment, comes to a person because he distances himself from that for which he is fit by the innate qualities of his soul.”From Shemonah Kevatzim II, 123
The sorrow and the difficulty we feel come on account of the fact that we distance ourselves from ourselves — from our uniqueness. And when we are far, everything becomes harder and more grueling, and less natural. And consequently, the way to return to life is to return to our selfhood, to our true talents, and to remove the sins and the partitions that prevented us from drawing near to who we truly are.
