The Ten Days of Repentance
„During the Ten Days of Repentance the Blessed One bestows upon a person a light of holiness and a longing for divine service. This is the time to hasten to the exalted labor of purifying the heart and preparing all one's powers for His service, and it will be received before Him, blessed be He, as though we had done so throughout the entire year.”From Yerach HaEitanim 171
There is a special quality to particular days. Our soul, our body, feels and responds to the uniqueness of certain days: our birthday, the start of a school year, and in general every new beginning and every conclusion. We are called upon to take these unique energies and turn them into an engine for good. When we succeed in doing this, it becomes easier for us to advance, to improve, to mend, to repent.
