Mishpetei HaRav Kook / The Straight Path

„For the sake of the world's equilibrium, it is essential that the majority of human beings walk in the straight path.”From Shemonah Kevatzim II, 103

Life in our world is bound together, each part responsible for the other at every moment, and extreme deeds cause tremors and at times even danger. Alongside outright wickedness, whose evil is plain, there is also the phenomenon of the one who is "overly righteous," which on the one hand counterbalances wickedness but on the other may itself become a problem in the imbalance of the world. The Rav explains that both of these shake the world, and "so the world suffers from both sides." The solution is not extremism but uprightness. "Make your will like His will."
