„One must always take care that the purification of the traits not lead to a weakening of the traits, that the purity of the will not lead to an enfeebling of the will, that the influence of faith not lead to the nullification of the illumination of the intellect. And to the extent that a person directs his mind toward peace and truth, the light of the Lord will be revealed to him in a more perfect and clear form.”From Shemonah Kevatzim, II, 244

When we wish to repent, to make rectification and to improve, we are obligated to make sure that this will strengthen us and not weaken us. This applies to the individual—in the ability to make important moves in our lives that will lift us up and not cause us to grow weak and fall. And also as a society—to truly rectify, and not to do so 'as if,' in an external and untrue manner, out of a desire to please the voices that call for rectification.

May we merit to emerge strengthened from all the rectifications. In memory of those who perished in the Meron disaster. And for the recovery of the injured in body and in soul.
