„There is a sorrow in the world that cannot be assuaged, except when the entire world is rectified. (Pinkas HaDapim, IV, 46)”
The feeling of frustration that sometimes rises within us when we see injustice upon injustice is a very hard feeling. Sometimes we want to rectify and we understand that it is an almost impossible puzzle. There are so many corruptions in the world that the required rectification, which touches so many details, seems impossible. This is a demand for redemption—a demand for a comprehensive rectification that our soul demands. This sorrow will remain within us; it is part of the engine of the world toward complete rectification. We must do our part and advance the world step by step toward rectification, in the knowledge that there is a sorrow in the world that cannot be assuaged except when the entire world is rectified. And if we advance the world just a little, this rectification draws nearer.
