The Roar of History

„The present destruction is the preparation for a new revival, deep and characteristic. A light of supernal loving-kindness sparkles forth.”From Orot HaMilchamah, chapter 9

Another siren, another night without sleep, another attack, another response, another feeling that we are returning again and again to that same long, endless desert. But sometimes, precisely within the most grinding journey, the deepest Torah of the people of Israel is written. The children of Israel walked for forty years in the desert, in circles, from crisis to crisis, from fall to fall, and in a routine that might have seemed pointless. In my estimation, had I been there, I would have felt that I was wasting my life. But from the perspective of thousands of years later, we know that in those years a nation was built and an eternal Torah was written. So too today, we do not know how and when this round will end, and we must not treat lightly the pain, the fear, and the price, but within the great storms a new depth of life, responsibility, heroism, and identity is also revealed. We are obligated to remember and understand that we are living history. That within these endless cycles, a Torah of redemption is being written!
