„When the spiritual sorrow—from the standing of one's own spiritual life, which is the pain of repentance, and of the whole world—is exceedingly great, to the point of stopping up the sources of ideas, of words, of prayer and outcry, of feeling and song, they rise up in a leap to uncover lights full of life from the source of silence. 'And the parched ground shall become a pool, and the thirsty land springs of water.'”From Shemonah Kevatzim, IV, 32
The world too repents. It rectifies past mistakes. It sews patch upon patch. It prepares itself for the coming stages. And sometimes the world does not succeed in expressing anything—like a broken person whose strength has failed. And then the silence, and even the sorrow, are its great outcry.
The stopping, the isolation, and even suffering, can be a great repentance on the way to good—to advancement and to the next step.
We all want a pleasant rectification, but sometimes the rectification is painful and aching. The hope and the faith are that, with a correct view, everything can lead to rectification.
