„And for this reason, repentance, together with the desire to purify the character traits, must precede the contemplative ascent; and then some measure of contact between the body and the soul is prepared, even in its supernal elevation.”From Orot HaTeshuvah, 14, 2

As we wrote in the previous status (it is recommended to read it), a person must keep his feet on the ground even when he is engaged in spirituality, and be wary of a floating that would set him very high and detached from everything.

How does one do this? Rav Kook believes in graduality, in the building of repentance and the building of character traits.

In my humble opinion, in practice this means that a person undergoing a process must first undergo the process from within, to understand the change that has occurred in him, to study and see different opinions, and to understand that the immense greatness of Judaism allows different opinions to live together.

Another thing to remember is that proper conduct precedes Torah, and that as part of spiritual elevation a person must be aware of the world in which he lives and respect other people.

A pleasant day!

For the recovery of Lydia bat Roza, David ben Malka.
