„Pure childhood absorbs within itself the universal purity. The pure will to live, in its naturalness, pulses without its filth only in the heart of the pure child. The will to live, unstained and uncorrupted, flows in a straight path from the wellspring of life, from the universal treasury of life, and shines in the soul of childhood. The holy expression of childhood in its wholeheartedness contains the strongest and clearest essence of the ideality of life, and when it expresses itself in holiness, it prepares worldly life to fulfill its task. The world endures only upon the breath of the mouths of schoolchildren.”From Shemonah Kevatzim, VI, 284

A child is like a sponge, and he fills his entire being with the atmosphere that surrounds him. There is in childhood a unique wholeheartedness and uprightness, a clean and pure will. And as long as the burden of life has not crushed them, they are what give our world and our life a chance.

For this reason a child's word has an immense power; the prayer of children is the strongest of prayers, the faith of children is the strongest of faiths (from the standpoint of the wholeheartedness within it, and not from the standpoint of depth of knowledge), and upon 'the breath of their mouths' the world endures.

Our mission is also to hear the child within us—to give a place to faith, to wholeheartedness, and to the clean and upright will.
