The Secret of Optimism

„Every attainment must be accompanied by the hope for something even more precious... so that there will always be something more to hope to reach.”From Ein Ayah, Berachot II, 66

War is a terrible thing. Always. Rav Kook, in his characteristic way, sought to see the positive side in every situation, not necessarily because everything is positive, but because such a way of looking lifts us to a better place. In our private lives as well, embittered people who tried and failed often deflate the spirit of those who continue to believe and to try. In challenging times it is important that we remember that the ability to advance depends on high expectations. On dreams. On setting ever higher goals for climbing and success. And the one who dares will prevail!
