The Light Within Us
„All the books, whether sacred or secular, and all the knowledge that comes to a person from outside, are nothing but aids to awaken one's inner spirit, to bring to light through them what lies hidden in one's depths.”From Shemonah Kevatzim I, 609
Sometimes it seems to us that wisdom is out there, between the pages, in mountains of books, in lectures and in inspiration from without. It is true that we can absorb much wisdom from our surroundings, but alongside this we must remember that each and every one of us carries within an ancient light, a kernel of truth that dwells inside us, and that all the learning in the world comes only to awaken what was already planted in us from birth. The greatest learning is the kind that returns us to ourselves and to our essence, that awakens in us the capacities and lights that have dwelt within us from time immemorial...
