The Ten Days of Repentance
„From the depths comes repentance, from that great depth in which the individual personal soul is no separate entity in itself, but a continuation of the general universal greatness.”From Olat Re'iyah, Ten Days of Repentance
Repentance begins from the most personal place. A moment in which a person looks inward and wants to return to himself. But Rav Kook reveals to us that it does not stop there. Within every private pain, within a feeling of distance or guilt, there is hidden a deep point of connection that links us to all of life. We are part of one great, organized, immense current. When a person repents, he joins the movement of all of reality, which seeks to rise and become better. It is precisely out of the personal struggle that a gate opens to feel that we belong to something infinite, and that every small repair in our soul also changes the world around us.
