Shabbat Chazon
„The entire people believes that there will be no more exile after the redemption that is beginning to unfold before us, and this deep faith is itself the secret of its existence... a generation that awaits a near salvation.”From Orot HaTechiyah 26
In a view of faith upon our generation, Shabbat Chazon is no longer merely a weeping over the past, but a clear-eyed look at what is still lacking. Our generation is not a lost generation, but a generation that knows well its place in the chain of history. A generation that already sees the light beginning to shine, and feels in its heart that there is no way back. Rav Kook teaches that the faith that this is a redemption after which there is no exile is not a romantic illusion, but the very secret of our existence. We are the generation that sees the return to Jerusalem and carries within it the great dream to live a whole life, connected, full of light. Even if we are still in the middle of the road, it is clear to us where it leads, and we have no intention of turning back.
