All Is for the Good

„One must always be influenced by the exalted idea, to yearn for the supernal good with all one's ability.”From Rishon LeYafo 139

There is a supernal view in which all is for the good. Even what appears as an obstruction, as a failure, as a descent, secretly works the complete good. But one cannot live only from this view in our limited world. We live in a world in which the light is contracted, in which there is concealment, in which personal lack is felt even when there is a general movement in reality. In this world there are moments in which anger and lack appear, but Rav Kook does mention the kernel of truth: despite our necessary focus on the lack, to remember that all is for the good. We need not relinquish the truth or our personal feelings in order to look into the depths, but it is important that we remember that there is a Holy One, blessed be He, in the world, and that there is a guiding hand over what happens in reality.
