To Be a Part
„Everyone who has courage in his heart, strength in his pen, and the spirit of God in his soul, is called to go out to the battlefront and to cry out: Let there be light.”From Iggerot, II 124
It is easy to ignore the deep processes that our nation is undergoing. It is easy to withdraw inward, to cluck one's tongue or not, and not to take responsibility. The Rav called upon us, in every way, to take responsibility. That we write, that we speak, that we initiate, that we create and act. In the specific essay from which these words are taken, the Rav called for seeking depth in the mystical Torah, to understand that we are in a generation of redemption, and consequently the study and the deed must be different and suited. To take responsibility for repairing the world, to be part of the redemption.
