Breaking and Repair
„In accordance with the magnitude of the quality of the breaking, so will be recognized the great, doubled and redoubled quality of the repair.”From Ein Ayah, Shabbat, IX 33
In the heavenly life, in the supernal worlds, there is no need for breaking in order to repair. There is no need for retreat in order to advance, and for darkness in order to understand and see the light. But in our own lives, we are bound to this. The Rav explains that it is just like a person who must invest, take a risk, and spend his money for the sake of profit. Therefore, when we experience a breaking, we must exhaust it. To understand its meaning. And to understand the manner of the repair that will be made possible specifically out of it, on the way to a great light.
