An Excellent Generation

„He grew and rose all at once; the troubles refined him, swept over him, gave him a gifted heart and a mind that contemplates, innovates, and soars, and he cannot endure remaining in lowliness.”From Ma'amar HaDor

Many are astonished by the greatness of the smartphone generation that has grown up here. A generation that many had eulogized, and which, in the war of survival in which we find ourselves, reveals truly wondrous strengths. The Rav explained this in a long article called "Ma'amar HaDor" (The Essay on the Generation). In it he speaks of generations of redemption, whose leap of growth and "insolence" cause them to cast off much of the conventions of the past. A casting off whose aim is not shaking-off for its own sake, but a desire to peel away a layer and to be built up out of truth.
