Parashat Noach
„In the course of the repair, a person must test his powers – perhaps he can send them out free, and they will serve the service of God, blessed be He, with greater eminence.”From Musar Avicha II, 1
There are times in life when we need to enter the ark. To shut the windows and the doors, to bring in only what is necessary and "the essentials of the world." And there is importance to such a period, in which we disconnect from the flow of life and connect to ourselves and to all that is holy and important. But alongside this, we must know that Noah's ark is not the ultimate purpose. As part of our essence in this world, we must aspire to repair, to be a part that succeeds in changing things essentially and in giving our unique light to the world. The Torah and the ethics we learn are not only a study disconnected within the ark, but a light and tools for the repair of the world.
