„The pure righteous do not complain of wickedness but add righteousnes…”
„The pure righteous do not complain of wickedness but add righteousness, do not complain of heresy but add faith, do not complain of ignorance but add wisdom.”
We are passing through difficult and complex days, both in the war against the enemy and within ourselves, within our small state, within the people of Israel.
What can be done? I do not know. Rav Kook knew how to demand redress for the disgrace of the Torah and the disgrace of the people of Israel. I do not presume to guess what he would say today.
But there is a teaching that I believe is not a peripheral teaching in Rav Kook's thought but a guiding line.
The pure righteous, and those who aspire to be such, try to add to the world and not to detract from it. In the long run, the action of such people builds a more perfected and better world.
Especially in all that concerns our dealings with our brothers, I believe this is the time and place to act from a positive place. To spread light, to spread wisdom, to increase good and righteousness.
"He has told you, O man, what is good, and what the Lord requires of you: only to do justice, to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God."
