Caution

„The matter of the Torah's safeguards is not merely on account of their leading to transgression.”From Musar Avicha 1:5

There are various prohibitions in the Torah whose essence, ostensibly, is that we not fall into low or difficult places. The Rav explains that the matter of these safeguards is independent - that is, we must be wary of them in their own right, and not only because they might one day cause us to fall. "For just as the transgression is bad in its essence, so too all matters connected to it, in a bond of cause and effect, are bad in their essence." These things are very profound, and their main understanding is that the Torah is not merely a program of prevention and protection, but a guide to life. Consequently, when we succeed in fulfilling it, our lives are better.
