„Skepticism's place is in the intellect, but feeling is deeper, and it…”
„Skepticism's place is in the intellect, but feeling is deeper, and it stands in certainty. The heart sees, the heart hears.”From Shemonah Kevatzim, II, 125
Despite the immense importance of the intellect, we must know that, from the side of uprightness and truth, there is an immense power precisely in feeling.
When our feeling is directed properly, when we succeed in listening to our inner self, to the inner core of the world, we can reach very high places. The inner intuition resides in the emotions of the heart, which contains within it deep insights implanted in each and every one of us.
The things stated here are one side of a very broad matter; in other places the Rav speaks of the importance of the intellect and of its superiority at times. But together with this, from the side of depth, when the heart manages to be without hindrances, it sees and hears far beyond what the mind can.
There is much work to reach a pure heart... but the very fact that this requires work will not prevent us from knowing that the heart is lofty and important also in its insights.
