What Is the Temple?
„The understanding of heart rise at midnight... They know that all the troubles and the darkness, all the rivers and streams of spilled blood... are but a faint offshoot of the echo of the voice of that supernal sorrow, the sorrow of the heavens, the sorrow of the Divine Presence.”From Orot HaMilchamah 10
The Temple has, over the years, become the heart's wish of people whom some regard as detached, as messianic, and as living lives irrelevant. This happens, among other reasons, because of a failure to understand the meaning of the Temple. The absence of the Temple is not a physical lack - a beautiful, magnificent building that was destroyed, real estate whose time has passed. Its absence symbolizes a lack of balance between the spiritual world and the material world. A lack of balance that causes never-ending wars, in an unbalanced world. As part of the repair, this yearning must be primarily a yearning for balance - a yearning for a lofty house of prayer that, in its holiness, lifts up the whole world.
