Everything Is Possible

„Existence first descended, from its high heavens down to the deepest of its depths, and through this it is prepared to ascend from all its descents to the source of its root.”From Shemonah Kevatzim I:548

The Midrash relates that when the fetus is formed it begins to study the entire Torah in the womb, and when it emerges it knows the whole Torah. Then an angel comes and strikes it on its mouth and it forgets everything. Why does it study the whole Torah if in the end it forgets it? Part of the matter is that we should know that it is possible - and that we should recognize that we can rise to the highest there is, to know everything, and also to know nothing. From here, everything depends on us. And this is true of all of reality.
