We Must Move Forward
„When a person feels that he is wretched, empty, that he has no spiritual strength, and he falls and collapses — let him know that a great light is prepared before him, and all the deficiencies... of all the days of his life stand before him, and all his iniquities testify against him, and behold he wonders, regrets amid many pains, and he rises and returns, emerging from the depth of the abyss to the hilltop of the heights.”From Shemonah Kevatzim 3:97
Our lives are constantly built of movement and friction. When we do not make the movement ourselves, we are compelled to make it — to pass a stage, or to crash and be rebuilt anew. So too when we are ill, our body simply demands care and health. When we harm ourselves, we demand progress and cry out for change. And so change finally comes. And if we are not attentive, the crash brings us down and the rebuilding brings the change. So it is with the individual, and so it is with the world.
