Parashat Chayei Sarah

In this week's parashah it is told of Yitzchak, who according to our Sages prayed in the field at the time of the afternoon prayer, and there met Rivka, his intended wife whom Eliezer brought to him. Rav Kook explains prayer as a discourse that creates reality. We articulate our feelings and our needs and prepare a place for them in the world — sometimes directly and sometimes indirectly. There is immense power to prayer.
