The festival of fire has arrived. It is no accident that Lag BaOmer became the festival of fire, for Israel, though they are not prophets, are the children of prophets. And as part of our people's general service of God, each person must draw near from his own place. And Lag BaOmer, the day on which the plague ceased, turned the despair over the terrible death of the world of Torah into an immense fire of an inner Torah — a deeper one, one that does not depend on tens of thousands but on the unbreakable bond of the heart.
