„Every commandment and every halachah has a unique musical quality...…”
„Every commandment and every halachah has a unique musical quality... We need only to remove the blockage from over the ears of our children... and the song will strike waves in their hearts and elevate their souls.”From Eder HaYakar 48
This week's Torah portion, "Ha'azinu," is a song. Many are the stories of people who abandoned their religion but retained, in deep memory, the melody from their childhood — the "Shema Yisrael," the Grace After Meals, the "Kol Nidrei," or some melody from their father's house that rekindles their soul. If we succeed in writing this song and embracing through it, as we are commanded in this week's portion, we will be able to penetrate our own hearts and the distant hearts that desire and long. And thus "it shall be a witness forever among the children of Israel."
