„Learned educators come, look at the externals, they too divert attent…”

„Learned educators come, look at the externals, they too divert attention from the 'I,' and add straw to the fire; they give the thirsty vinegar to drink, they stuff the minds and the hearts with everything that is outside them, and the 'I' goes on being forgotten.”From Rav Kook, "Bakashat HaAni HaAtzmi"

The secret of education is adapting the content to the recipient, and not the reverse. Education is not a striving toward a known goal but the revelation and uncovering of a soul and a world, and the connection between them. An educator for life is one who enables the connection to the "I" of the child being educated, and not to the desires of the educator, and who is willing, in humility, to make room for this wonder.
