„How foolish are the people who do not look upon the wonders of nature…”
„How foolish are the people who do not look upon the wonders of nature and its laws, upon the greatness of God's work in the world... All the insolence and heresy that come into the world come to demand justice for the affront to matter... And all who engage with matter in uprightness and justice — whether those who give a proper portion to the body and its demands, to society and its demands and earthly needs, or those who devote time to scientific contemplation... they bring the blessing of happiness and peace to the world.”From Shemonah Kevatzim I, 590
Did you look up at the sky today? The tumult of the world and our all-demanding lives may divert us from life. And at times even our religious and spiritual place may cause this. Alongside the need for material and spiritual advancement, as part of our being human beings and the handiwork of the Holy One, we must study the world and its signs, celebrate nature, listen to reality and its messengers, and live.
