„We must hate anger with the whole depth of our being. With great anger, but measured and settled, we must hate the boiling rage that confuses the mind and disqualifies all the great advantages of a person, individual and public.”From Shemonah Kevatzim III, 134

There is an anger that causes us to become unhinged — one that constricts our soul, and if we were to zoom out on the state in which we boil with rage, we would be alarmed at ourselves. This anger must be removed. It is easy to speak of such things when we are calm; it is very hard to apply in the hard moments in which we rage. But it is precisely in such moments that we should understand the immense drawbacks, both as individuals and as a public, of a rage that throws us out of proportion — and, accordingly, to calm it, and to find other ways to receive its advantages.
