„Sometimes a person cannot lift himself out of his lowliness except by…”

„Sometimes a person cannot lift himself out of his lowliness except by writing the arrangements of his heart, and thereby he repairs the inner blemishes caused by material inclinations.”From Shemonah Kevatzim 6:34

At times we find ourselves in despair and lowliness, in difficult feelings and in the sense that we have entered a whirlpool from which it is hard to escape.

At such times a person must find refuge for his soul — sometimes the way to this is in conversation with friends, sometimes the way to this is in silence.

In this passage the Rav gives an additional way, namely, writing, which liberates a person's soul. There is in true writing the ability to open the heart and to resolve entanglements.

Shabbat Shalom!

For the recovery of Lihi bat Sarit.
