„in memory of Rabbi Elyashiv of blessed memory”

„in memory of Rabbi Elyashiv of blessed memory”

We think that we are in charge of our lives, that we decide... Reality shows that our overt choices are very few.

The world does not always run according to our choices, but at its own pace. We think that we decide, but the conduct of the world is often what determines the pace, and the inner choices we make are stronger than the external choices we make outwardly.

For example — if we decided to work at some job without desire, it is reasonable to assume that we will not survive at this job, since our inner decision was not to work.

From this passage we must learn that if we are full of good, our decisions will usually tend toward the good; but we must know that when our inner selves have become filled with evil, we must beware of our inner choices, and it is most correct to try to repair our inner selves and thus improve our choice.

Have a pleasant rest of the day, everyone!
