„Even if a snake is wound around his heel he will not interrupt. If the bodily quality darkens the world, if it pollutes the noble purity of life, he will not be afraid or dismayed; he will do his part, the soul will roam in its greatness as befits it, and the coiling of the snake will not diminish the courage of the spirit, but will even enlarge it — and "by stratagems you shall wage your war."”From Shemonah Kevatzim 5:282

When a person feels that sin overpowers him again and again, he must not despair. Even when the filth of the world stands as a stumbling block for us, even when the body overpowers the spirit, we must continue and try to live the life of the soul, the spiritual life.

Despair will not advance us; specifically the continuation in holiness despite the impurity that dwells within us will elevate us, and, God willing, "by stratagems" we will succeed in bringing down the sin.

Have a pleasant rest of the day.

For the recovery of Carmela bat Sara.
