„It is an immense sin for one who is a person of understanding, and who is able to clarify his relationship to all the fundamental matters of the spirit by the light of his soul — to the knowledge of God, to the foundation of faith and all its branches and details, with clear and lucid intellect — that he should abandon this gift of God, and leave himself to sink in a murky sea of imaginings, upon whose faces reality is forever slapping.”From Shemonah Kevatzim 3:193
A person who can clarify himself, ask questions, investigate and examine in depth his faith and his questions of faith, is obligated to do so. "An unwitting error in study is accounted as intentional" — a person who can study and does not clarify, a person who can delve deeply and does not delve deeply, a person who can arrive at truth and does not arrive, cannot say 'I erred.' He must strive, exert himself, and study.
The ability to delve deeply and to study is a gift; whoever has merited it is obligated to it.
Have a pleasant rest of the day, everyone!
For the recovery of Shimon ben Kusa.
