„A single healthy soul gives light, life, and strength to all the soul…”
„A single healthy soul gives light, life, and strength to all the souls that bind themselves to it.”From Kevatzim MiKtav Yad Kodsho II, 5, 42
When a soul shines - the heavens shine, the world shines, people shine. This metaphor that Rav Kook gave unfolds also in this passage, in which he speaks of the light of Torah scholars.
Attachment to a 'tzaddik' is attachment to health, to light, to life, and to strength.
The Rav explains that when a person cleaves to a Torah scholar, he receives from him the powers and the great lights that are within him. In other places the Rav speaks of the great lights that shine from reality, from society, and from the entire world. Powers and lights that illuminate even fog-shrouded heavens.
May we merit to receive from the lights and to spread great lights.
