Mishpetei HaRav Kook / Do Not Fear the Imagination
„How greatly must the spiritual person overcome himself, so as not to fear his imagination, and also not to fear developing his imagination in great abundance, so that it may be a proper foundation and throne for the light of the supernal intellect, which stores within it the foundation of the glory of the life of truth.”From Shemonah Kevatzim III, 52
In order to reach lofty levels and lofty places, one must dare to imagine. One must dare to think. A healthy imagination is a foundation for sound reason; a child who grows up in health and soars in his thoughts can grow to be an adult who dares to try and to succeed. He can see what is hidden from the eye and strive toward it, despite his present situation. And just as this is true in the physical realm, it is sevenfold true in the spiritual. If one does not fear the fear, one can reach mighty places and uncover the secrets of the Torah.
