Creation and Growth

„Great are the pangs of creation, the tearing away of a person from the murky world.”From Shemonah Kevatzim, VIII 45

Each time we truly create something new, we also experience pain. It is not easy to leave what we have grown accustomed to – the habits, the comfort, the place where everything is clear and familiar. True creativity demands of us to rise up, to free ourselves from the chains of the everyday, and to march toward a higher, purer, and cleaner world. Therefore do not be alarmed by the difficulty; it is a sign that you are on the right path, that the soul is tearing away from the old and connecting to itself, to its essence. Precisely out of these pangs is finally revealed the great pleasure of the creative soul: the sense of freedom, of purity, and of fulfillment.
