The Importance of Will

„When we examine well, we see that the lack of will is a greater impediment than the lack of ability; and were it not for the lack of will, already the greatest evil that exists in the condition of humanity would be close to being repaired.”From LeNevuchei HaDor, Chapter 39

Usually we tend to think that wisdom or talent is a gift of God for which we all must pray. This is true, but it is true many times over regarding the need to pray for the will. A person who wills is a person who will usually succeed. A high and strong point of will can lead each of us to immense heights, to tremendous successes, to the refinement of our character traits, to greatness. We must work on the point of will, the good will. We must see to it that our children aspire to will more, and so they will be able to reach ever higher.
