The Thin Line Between Good and Evil
„A small point, from which a very thin line extends, is what divides between a refined and holy will and a coarse and murky one.”From Shemonah Kevatzim I, 245
Sometimes the evil and the good in our world are so close that only a thin line separates them.
We see this in the social and media world: people take great and precious and holy ideas and desecrate them, and sometimes the opposite: small, coarse, and evil ideas are refined and rewoven, and new worlds are created with their help.
We are all writers in this age, and therein lies the danger. If we examine ourselves all the time and take care that around us there be good people who can illumine and offer us reproof, we will be able to illumine the world around us instead of using forceful words. And this depends on humility, and on the ability to examine ourselves at every moment.
