Mishpetei HaRav Kook / That the Heart May Open

„So long as evil cleaves to a person, it seizes the heart and hardens it, and does not allow it to weep.”From Olat Re'iyah, Tachanun

We harden ourselves against the complex reality – when day after day we contend with war, the heart hardens. Our request each day in the Tachanun prayer is that the Holy One succeed in seeing our pain even when the tears no longer fall. And we will continue and try to connect to the depths within us, in order to open the heart.
