„At times we find in emotion far more truth than in the intellect. And…”
„At times we find in emotion far more truth than in the intellect. And a worthy prayer will at times be a full treasury of Torah, to which a multitude of studies cannot compare. (Shemonah Kevatzim, IV, 107)”
The feelings we have and the acts we perform from a deep, inner place are far stronger than the intellectual things we do and enact.
The place of the intellect is central to a person, and there is no intention whatsoever to belittle this important place. But in these words Rav Kook emphasizes the importance of inner action, driven specifically by emotion. Like an inner, deep prayer that holds within it an immense connection that cannot exist in intellectual matters.
