Seeking God

„The heretical tumult, so long as it is occupied with moral aims, is in fact the very seeking of God.”From Perurim miShulchan Gavoha

Many are the "heretics" who, in their very denial, are actually seeking and pleading for the nearness of God - not as a symbolic and temporary act, but as an actual way of life. They do not compromise on the mediocrity and compromise into which one immersed in his religious day-to-day life is liable to fall. And they seek God with all their being. The Rav continues and explains: "Wretched are human beings so long as they do not know that all that they engage in - in the expansion of morality and the seeking of good - this is the seeking of the Lord. And a great light will appear upon them when this secret is revealed to them." And the time has come to reveal this - that the seeking of God does not come specifically from synagogues and study halls, and from those with one sign or another upon their heads, but also from those who seek God and demand Him in their lives and in the life of the world around them.
