„When life has no purpose, death must be terrifying; the war against it is in vain, and boldness will avail nothing. The true remedies by which the world is gradually being freed from the enslavement to death are hidden in the treasury of life.”From Shemonah Kevatzim I, 486
Our world is often driven by the desire to "amass" experiences and material achievements before the looming presence of death. But when our lives hold a dimension of values and spirit that accompanies them, the experience of existence changes entirely.
In such a state, of itself, the need to survive is no longer what fills life; rather, it is the understanding that we have the ability to influence the world — something that reaches its peak at the end of life, at the highest point of a person's achievements. *The fallen of the IDF fell on account of the spiritual and value-laden dimension that accompanied them in their lives.* They, who in the years of their youth could have occupied themselves solely with themselves, gave their lives for their people and their state, and placed at the center of their lives the values by whose merit we are all here. May their memory be blessed.
