„The Land of Israel is not an external thing, an external possession of the nation, merely a means to the goal of the general union and the maintenance of its material — or even spiritual — existence.”From Orot, I

The Holy Land is not only the place where we all physically gather, and not even only the place where we all elevate ourselves spiritually. The essence of our special Land lies in the unmediated bond between it and the Jewish people: "...it is an essential entity bound in a living bond with the nation, embraced by inner qualities with its very existence." A kind of living being, a love and a bond found at the root of our essence and the essence of the Land.
